Master Data Integration between 3rd Party MDG system & SAP S/4HANA (On-premise)

Hello Experts,

There are a few interfaces we need to develop for our customer, as part of which we need to integrate SAP S/4HANA (On-premise) with a 3rd Party system which is essentially a Master Data Governance system. As part of these interfaces, this 3rd Party MDG system would be sending Customer & Supplier Data along with new Products Information, which needs to be sent to S/4HANA in real time.

In this context, kindly advise, which would be the best integration approach to fulfill the above requirement?

Can we use the OData APIs available in S/4HANA (via SAP API Management & CPI) to synchronize the above data into S/4HANA, such that the end-to-end integration flow would look like:

3rd Party MDG System --> API Management --> SAP CPI --> SAP S/4HANA (OData API)

Or would it be possible to achieve the above requirement using SAP Data Intelligence. Kindly advise.

Note: The initial Master Data Load would be done into S/4HANA using a Data Migration tool.

Hi Jyotika,

The answer to your question is, it depends on whether you have the existing resources in CPI and if you do then the below approach is valid

3rd Party MDG System --> API Management --> SAP CPI --> SAP S/4HANA (OData API)

Although I would investigate the role of Master Data Integration ( MDI ) as an Orchestration Tool but I am unsure if it does S/4HANA to S/4HANA via BTP MDI.
