How to delete a folder in solman solution documentation which is marked for deletion

Dear Craig,

It would depend on the branch structure.

Maintenance branch has a priority over development branch. If the element is deleted from maintenance branch and changes are released, the element is deleted from maintenance, development and in Production.

If element is deleted from development, its marked for deletion. If there are no changes in maintenance branch and you release this element from development, it would be deleted.

If there are changes in maintenance branch for this element and you release this element from development, it would display a release conflict which has to be resolved first.

Hello craig.owens2,

Yes there is a sequence to be followed while deleting from the Solution Documentation hierarchy.

Solution documentation can be deleted in any branch but production branch. All elements which are available in parent branches are actually not deleted but marked for deletion. Life cycle operation needs to be released in order to apply them to parent branches.

In the example a process was deleted in design. It is also removed from import but still available in development branch.

Thanks,

Vignesh

Hello Shabnam,

Many thanks for your reply.

I made the deletion from the Maintenance branch and instead of physically deleting it, it only marked it as deleted.

When I try to delete it from Development branch it gives error message "There are modifications in branch "Design"

When I try to delete it from Design branch again it only marks it for deletion.

As I said once it is marked for deletion, when I right click the delete option no longer appears..

I am not aware that any release has been made to other branches, but it's possible.

It sounds like there is a proper sequence to go through in order to get them physically deleted, but I don't understand how that works. It would be great if you could explain in more detail the steps involved to get these folders physically deleted.

Appreciate your help so far

Kind Regards

Craig
