Configurable material in customer scheduling agreement



I wonder if it's possible to use scheduling agreements for materials with variant configuration?

Let's say that you have a customer requirement of 2 pcs for a material on the same date where one should have characteristic A and the other B. Can this be achieved when using a scheduling agreement or would you need to use a normal sales order with separate items? If it's possible in a SA, pls explain the process steps (sales order->delivery-> invoice) and the relevant config.
