MaxDB Patching 7.9.08 to 7.9.10

Is anyone aware of any OS requirements when patching MAXDB (for content server) from 7.9.08 to 7.9.10.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 7.9

Kernel: Linux 3.10.0-1160.49.1.el7.x86_64

Has anyone found a better one? Is root still required?
