Data Universe (UNX) and WebI Impact Analysis

Hello,

Are there any methods for getting Universe related info for Impact Analysis'? I've seen some older threads but nothing more recent on this topic. We're using 4.2 sp09. We have a almost 20 universes and I have a question regarding which use certain database tables along with which webi use objects tied to those tables. I tried using the audit universe but those dimensions don't return any data regarding Universe detail. I see that universes can be 'saved' as txt/pdf but the outputs are not very friendly for cataloging and searching and would not help with webi. I am not familiar with using the SDK.

There is not built-in way of getting this information. There are a number of 3rd party tools available for doing this from companies such as APOS or Goiffon & Smith . I've also written code to do this - the challenge with this approach is that the Semantic Layer that you need for working with UNX universes is Java-based and the Designer SDK is COM based and is easier to work with in .NET.
