Adaptive Job Server is running late

Hello,

Recently we upgraded from BO 4.1 SP3 to BO 4.2 SP8, the AJS was working without any issue but we applied Patch 4 then the AJS is keep getting restarted and the scheduled reports are getting delivered late.

In the morning the scheduled reports run from 7:45 to 8:15, few reports get delivered but then the AJS server get stuck or restarts. We have to stop the server and then start to send the remaining reports.

We increased the RAM size 32GB on the server and MaxMetaspaceSize=192m,Xmx8g, also we redeployed the WAR files and reinstalled all the Applications.

Thanks,

Aravind

Hello Arvind,

There will be lot of performance issues as RAM size is very low. 32GB will not be sufficient to run BO services.

We are managing with 56GB RAM for Dev & 56 GB RAM for QA as we have 100 active users in each environment whereas for Production, we have have 112 GB RAM because of 2000+ active users. Our environment is standalone so it works without any issues.

I recommend to upgrade your RAM to min 80GB and increase according to the number of active users and the usage of the reports.

Best Practices:

1. Create more WebI processing servers

2. Split AJS according to the requirement, similar activity like APS split. Follow this KBA

2052529 - How to create a new Adaptive Job Server only for scheduling Web Intelligence documents?

3. Split AJS according to the reports you have in your environment.

Best Regards
Sandeep

Hi Sandeep,

Thank for the reply, before applying Patch 4 (on 4.2 SP8) the server has only 16GM of RAM and no issues with the performance.

As per SAP's recommendations, increased the RAM to 32 GB.

Thanks,
