Required date in Quality Notification

Hi Team,

What's the purpose of required start date in QM Notification(Q2)

If i am creating a notification on 01/Jan/2022 , I am able to enter the required start date 12/Dec/2021.

I able to see the required date & start date in action log

Not sure what's the impact of populating the required date & start date in notification & what will be impact if i dont enter the required date in notofication
