Material Return for Cost Center

How can we get back in inventory for returned materials against issued for cost centre vide movement 201 after closing of period?

as per my understanding, we can post a MIGO-"Goods Issue" document vide movement type 202 against relevant cost centre to get back stock in inventory after closing of period.

You definitely can post with the 202 movement type a reversal of goods issue to a cost center. As any other MM movement type you can post it in the current fiscal period and if that's allowed on company code level in the previous period. Posting in the previous period can be enabled/disabled with the MMRV transaction. Make sure to align with your FI people if you intend to post in the previous period.
