Dear Experts, Client wants stock age report value (Material Value) to be matched with G/L Balance Amount (T-code FAGLB03).
But we cannot match Stock Age Report Value with the G/L Balance Value as the Material Value will be calculated based on the Goods Receipt Moving Average Price (As on GR Date) and displaying in FAGLB03..But here in Stock Age Report, we are calculating the Material Value based on the Current Moving Average Price of the materials...
Also, the reason why it will not match means the Moving Average Price will be affected based on below transactions, like;
Price Change,
Un-planned delivery cost,
Shipment Cost, etc.,
But, client wants to match the G/L balance value in FAGLB03 with the Stock Age Report value for each G/L Account (Material Type). Please guide me on this issue.
Hi ddsapanswers
Do you have differences in MB5L between the GL and stock balances, if you run it only for company code (Assuming plant is a valuation area). Do not specify any other parameter other than company code and run the report to check if there are differences. If yes, check if the balance carry for ward for GL Account has been done for the previous year or not. This is explained in the below note:

If balance carry forward does not resolve your issue, than check if there are any manual postings to the balance sheet account. The below OSS Note would be useful:
https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/1913754
Also check the reasons mentioned in the below note for differences between MM and FI due to changes in customizing or inconsisten data:
https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/968812
If your issue of difference in inventory and GL is cleared for MB5L, than also specify the report you are using for inventory age, where you see the difference in stock and GL Account. Is the inventory age report in your case a custom report?
You might find the below OSS Note to check how the MAP has changed over a period of time.

Please first check on the differences in inventory and GL Balances through standard report MB5L and if you see any differences. There are already many notes on how to look for differences, if any in MB5L. You have to work with a development colleague to check why your custom report has a difference with FAGLB03. The note I suggested
https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/1506200
can help you to see how the price has changed over time and it may help you to work with a development colleague for your custom logic.
Thanks & Regards

Did you try with your report result by cross checking with reports with MB5L and MR51
