Dear Experts,

Need your help on one of our customer where they want to use CLOUD ALM on their Day today operations. This is a SAP CPE environment and S/4 HANA 1909 has been implemented. As a new requirement they want to use CLoud ALM for change request management during the support.

FYI, cloud ALM was not used during the implementaton hence there is no business process, scope or task is available. Its a complete new system.

My query is, as Changemangement is part of implementatation and not operation & the available templates are for implementation projects only. In this situation how we can extend change management feature to a day to day operation set up and manage change requests. Is it possible? if yes.. could you please guide me.

Hi Satyabrata,

In general you can just use an implementation project without selecting a template. In your daily operations you can utilize requirements in SAP Cloud ALM as change requests which can broken down into user stories or project tasks for the implementation. As soon as it comes to deployment and change documents simply create one or more features from a requirement. Within a feature you can document your changes in the description section and assign transport requests to capture your changes.

The feature follows a simple workflow:

  • In Specification
  • In Implementation
  • Ready for Deployment
  • Deployed

To indicate that a feature is ready for production you can switch the feature to "Ready for Deployment" and deploy all assigned transport requests by clicking the "Deploy" button in the transport section of a feature.

Hope that helps.

Best regards,

Moritz
