IDOC number range configuration read - No of Numbers in Buffer as 1000. ( see below )

What does this mean, when we have multiple application servers in use. My landscape has three application servers. AppServ1,AppServ2 and AppServ3. Let say my program would generate 5000 IDOCs

PATH1

Would buffer of 1000 mean once IDOC creation program kick for generation of 5000 IDOC;s

First 0-1000 IDOC would start generation in AppServ1,

Parallelly 1001-2000 IDOC generation would kick start on AppServer2,

Parallelly 2001-3000 IDOC generation would kick start on AppServer3.

OR

PATH2

once IDOC creation program kick for generation of 5000 IDOC;s These 5000 would get spread out randomly to whichever app server is available, say allocation 500 IDOC to Appserv2 ( it is busy doing other task) 900 to Appserver1 and 3600 to AppServer3

OR

PATH3

If we increase the buffer count to 10,000. Would that result in Appserve1 generating all the 5000 IDOC's ?

Thanks

Prashant
