FHMI Materials - how to subcontract for calibration of tools

We use tools that are coded as FHMI material items. These tools have to be sent out for re-calibration every 6 months. How do we use the subcon PO process to send them out and bring them back into inventory? or what process should be done to send them out and back in as the same material number?
