Group Reporting architecture view

Hi Team,

Can somebody help me with possibility of below scenario in respect to architecture where base is S/4 Hana on-premise.

a) Connection with Group Reporting S/4 Cloud version

b) Connection with ICMR Cloud version

If yes, how does it has impact the functionality of respective tools?

As per my understanding, S/4 Hana on premise can have GR cloud version with the help of Group Reporting data collection (GRDC).

Please also share any reference if any

I can only answer your second question: "b) Connection with ICMR Cloud version". You need to move the data from your OP S/4 to your Cloud S/4. There are 2 ways:

1. File Upload using ICAFU;

Thank you Vincent.Yeah we can do it but if we think from user perspective will it not make the process little bit cumbersome unless we made it automated wholly..

Is it recommendable from the sap perspective..

The customer has to develop the automatic logics in sending the data to ICMR using the API.

Hi Saleh,

I strongly recommend the customer implement On Prem Group Reporting to get the full integration which is VERY powerful. However they should be on S/4HANA 1909 or later for best results.

You can setup Cloud Group Reporting and use GRDC to integrate to On Prem S/4 HANA but you lose:

#1 - near real time transaction based integration will not be available

#2 - No Drill down from Cloud GR back to On Prem S/4

#3 - No shared master data

We have a couple of customers using Cloud Group Reporting with ECC (using GRDC for integration) and we have one customer with 1709 S/4HANA that's going to go with Cloud GR because they do not want to upgrade for a few years.

BUT...if at all possible it's far better to keep the same Versions of S/4HANA and Group Reporting.
