SAP Analytics Designer - Sorting of Charts

Hello,

it was said that Sorting and Ranking API comes maybe in late 2021 but unfortunately it is not out yet.

I am switching Measure with Dropdowns and Radio Button Groups. Everytime when I change the Measures the Charts are not sorted anymore. Only the first Measure which was set is sorted but all others are not. Is there any possibility that I can sort them?

Hi Alex,

For the chart object, there're two methods: sortByMember & sortByValue.

Maybe you can try to call these two methods in the event script of your dropdown and radio button.

I don't have these two methods...

I use a BW-Live-Connection with:
System Name
AE15

Version2021.20.21

Hi Alex,

The version I use is 2022.2.

Let me check with my colleague if these methods are delivered in the latest versions or this is a limitation for BW live connection.

Hi Alex,

Just checked with my colleague and the sort methods are only supported in optimized mode, which is NOT officially released yet.

You may follow the SAC roadmap explorer to check the planned release date.

As a workaround, you can create several charts and set the sorting separately, and using script to set the visibility of these charts when using dropdown and radio button.

Please check it.

thanks a lot. I have to apply sorts on over 100 charts in 3 different Applications. There is no chance that I will create every chart twice 😞

I have to wait for the Sort API to come out...
