SAP PLM Career advice

Hi friends,

I come up with this question. Hope anyone could guide me proper.

I have 18 years IT experience in PLM domain with core skills in manual testing with around 5 years in automation testing using Selenium Webdriver . I have functional knowledge (no development) of products like Teamcenter, 3DExperince, CAD, etc that are normally used in PLM.

I am thinking of venturing into SAP PLM, ABAP field by getting trained and certified. Am I thinking in right direction?

I know many would ask me to go into management, but I want to exploit some good options in technical field that could help me sustain in IT for atleast 15 more years from now. Any inputs highly appreciated.

I see a SAP skills shortage, particularly in S/4HANA, so I recommend taking some free Open SAP courses at open.sap.com and you can decide from there which path to take.

ABAP and other SAP functional areas will be around for some time to come.

Good luck
