Invalid Links Chrome

Dear Community,

I´m doing my very first steps in the SAP environment but always have the same issues with Google Chrome. Regardless of the links I click (even the login button for the SAP Community page) I always get a warning page which tells me that the links are wrong. I assume it has something to do with the SSO, but I don't know where to start searching.
In our company we completely use Mac-Books and are completely based on the Google-Suite, this is why I need to find a solution. I don't have any issues when I use Safari, but with Chrome I always get the warning pages, and will be directed to this link: https://accounts.sap.com/saml2/idp/sso

Hi Mr. stephen_niemann

I had experienced the same problem you describe and the procedure I found for the issue to be solved is as follows:

1.- Open http://accounts.sap.com/ on an Incognito browser page.

2.- Enter your credentials but your password wrongly at least five times.

3.- You will receive an email (email link to your s-number) with an URL to reset your password (you can actually enter your current password).

4.- You should now be able to access any page related to your s-number (bookmarks work perfectly).

I hope this helps you, best regards!

Hi Stephen,

I assume that you have saved the bookmark for the SAP ID Service logon screen. The link https://accounts.sap.com is not not an application url. Hence, you received the warning.

You reach the SAP ID Service Logon Screen by navigating to the avatar on the SAP Community home page.

Instead please save the SAP Community home page (application url: https://community.sap.com).

I hope that helps.

Best regards,

Kerstin

Hello Kerstin I tried your approach but it didnt work. I don´t have any bookmarks saved and I always used the buttons on the SAP sites which already kicked me out (for example clicking the Avatar in the top right to enter the Profile)

Hi Stephen,

I forgot to ask you to go to the Network tab of Dev Tools.

So please execute the following:

In a Chrome tab open DevTools (F12 on PC), go to Network tab. There's also a recording option to record that network trace.

Go through the flow that produces the error above.

Send us a picture of the network requests that lead to that error.

Save that trace into a file (usually .har) you/we might need it later for further analysis.

Kind Regards,

Vladimir

Hi, Stephen,

What is the link / url that you start with?

Have you tried reproducing the same behavior in Chrome Incognito window?
What was the result?

Can you load accounts.sap.com login there and then go to the Community page you were trying to reach before?
Is that successful?

Would be great if you could open the Developer Tools in Chrome and then start your scenario that produces the above message, and then share the URL that produces it and the error code associated with it. This would help us troubleshoot your issue.

Hey Vladimir, your approach works so far (trying in incoginto) will try to extract the informations you requested. But at least I know now I could wipe the cookies to maybe solve the issue.

Okay, I´m not sure how to find the Informations you need:

Hi, Stephen,

Thank you for providing the har file.

Unfortunately in the few network requests that I could see there, I could only see one authentication request which came from www.sap.com or similar content site in SAP. I'm pretty sure that there was already a session existing with your user, before you came to the site which produced the aforementioned error.

In order to understand what's going on better, we could do 1 of the following:

1. You could start a clean browser session (not incognito), with no existing SAP tabs loaded. Also best to delete cookies then.
1.1 then start recording with devtools and go to the SAP websites that you'd usually go to and to the one which produces that error.
1.2 Then save the full har file. But I wouldn't suggest sharing it here. Best we could talk via Direct Message (I'll reach out to you there) and will provide you an my sap email address where you could send it so I could analyze.

2. 2nd option would be a call and a screen sharing session so we could figure this out together. Let's talk via DM to decide.

Kind Regards,

Vladimir

Hi Stephen

Are you using both at the same time as SAP S-user and P-user?
