BusinessObjects 4.3, SP2 and Corba SSL Issue

Is anyone running BusinessObjects 4.3, SP2 with Corba SSL? We were running just fine with BusinessObjects 4.3, SP1, Patch 06 but then we applied the BusinessObjects 4.3, SP2 patch on top of that and ran into some issues, one being the BOE application under Tomcat throughs an error when Corba SSL is installed. I completely uninstalled BusinessObjects and then installed BusinessObjects 4.3, SP2 directly and still have a Corba SSL issue. Anyone else encountering issues with this?

I just upgraded to this version and I am having CORBA issues as well. System appears fine until you try to go to the CMC and then it errors out saying the CMS had a fatal error. I remove CORBA and all is happy again.

After much discussion with SAP (way back earlier this year) I discovered i was missing the '-Dpsecert=....pse' setting in Apache Tomcat. This is NOT documented anywhere as necessary for the web application AND BusinessObjects works without it up until BOB43, SP2.

you say you were missing -Dpsecert setting in Tomcat. Where did you find that answer and what is the correct syntax?

Tom,

There are some references to this setting here and there in the Business Intelligence Platform Administrator Guide but it is not explicitly stated to be necessary for Tomcat or the Web Application Server anywhere in the guide.

As I mentioned in my post back in September, I happened to notice the setting in some information SAP tech support provided to me. I believe the Business Intelligence Platform Administrator Guide needs to be updated.

Section 8.14.4.3 outlines the settings to add to the web application server but it makes no mention of the -Dpsecert setting.

Here is the SAP note which also mentions the setting, which is required for Corba SSL configuration since BOB42, SP5:

Hello Michael - you saved us! - the missing documentation about: -Dpsecert=cert.pse did cost us much time and nerves!

- Thank you for sharing!
