Crystal Report 13.0.31.4010 installed but did not integrated with Visual Studio 2017 Professional

I had Windows 7 64bit. I used visual studio 2017 and I needed to create report so I installed crystal report for visual studio. It worked perfectly and I created many reports by using it.

Now I bought a new laptop. It has Windows 10 64bit. After I installed visual studio 2017, It was needed to install crystal report for visual studio again so I can continue working on the project. But this time after installing the crystal report, it was not integrated with the visual studio.

I do not find crystal report option in "Add New Item". Also I cannot edit my reports which I already made before

Whenever I click on the report to edit, it opens a binary file instead of report editor.

My crystal report version is 13.0.4010

I have also installed Runtime Engine of same version

My Visual Studio is 2017 Professional

The runtime doesn't provide the integration with Visual Studio. Instead, you have to download and install the "install package" which is an .exe - see the second file down here:

After downloading, you'll need to right-click on the .exe and select "Run as Administrator" in order to get the install to work correctly.

You can find this download page at https://origin.softwaredownloads.sap.com/public/site/index.html

Did you select "Run as Administrator" to run the .exe? What version of Windows are you on?

Yes I tried with "Run as Administrator" carefully. I am using Windows 10 Pro.

Just to be clear the assembly version is 13.0.4000.0 and not 4010.

Did you download it from the link from Dell or from here:

https://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/Crystal+Reports%2C+Developer+for+Visual+Studio+Downloads

And not some third party site?

Likely missing a dependency, look in the install log and see if it's complaining at all.

You can find the log here:

C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\InstallData\logs

and then a time stamped folder when you installed it.
