Hi,
I have two restricted measures in SAP Analytics Cloud - Current Quarter Data, and Previous Quarter Data.
I want to be able to dynamically change these quarters based on setting a value - for instance - if i set a variable 'Current Quarter' as 2021-Q4, it should automatically set the filter of current quarter data to 2021-Q4, and previous quarter data to 2021-Q3.
I am aware that we can use lookbacks in time ranges for this, but I do NOT want the current quarter to change automatically, and instead have control on what the 'current quarter' variable is.
Is there any way to implement this - wherein changing a variable such as current quarter would modify the filters on these restricted measures.
Thanks and regards,
Kavya Kathuria
Hi william.yu!
Can you elaborate a bit on the alternate method you mentioned above (dynamically setting tabel filter to quarter end month and using QTD measure + Previous Quarter restricted measure). I have tried playing around in. theanalytical application, but have not been successful in replicating the behaviour of current date input controls.
Thanks and Regards,
Kavya Kathuria

Hi William!
Thank you for the prompt response!
I have looked into the current date input control option, and it seems to work for me.
However, this seems to be available only in stories, and not analytical applications. I am using an analytical application with a live connection. Is it possible to get this option over there?
Thanks and regards,
Kavya Kathuria
Hi kavya.kathuria,
You are right, current date input control is NOT yet avaialble in Analytics application. But I assume you should be able to achieve this by dynamically set table filter to quarter end month and use QTD measure + Prevsious Quarter restricted meaure. Just try that out.
Best regards, William
