BAPI for currency rate

Dear Experts,

We have developed a report to generate costing details for each PO in the system. We are using BAPI_EXCHANGERATE_GETDETAIL for currency conversion...
Now we are facing performance issue becoz of that. Can we use TCURR table instead of BAPI. Will there be any difference in the Exchange Rate?
