Hello Team,

I have requirement to make the default posting date of next month first day in the month-end when the current period is closed.

Ex: If jan'17 period is closed on 26 th jan '17 then for posting on 27th the default posting date should be Feb 1st'17.

Since the SAP standard the posting date will be today date and on Jan 27th posting date will be 27thJan'17 and shows error since the Jan'17 is closed and user keep change the date.

Please advise

Thanks,

MBR

Hi,

It can be done only by modification of standard programs. Unless, the documents, you are speaking about, are created automatically via some interface. In this case, you can control the process.

Hi Eli,

Thanks for responding.

Can you please elaborate which standard programs we can do it . i have requirement to the below transactions to be substituted for the posting date and are we sure by substitution we cannot replace the posting date.??

thanks in advance for the inputs....

You will have to 'intercept' the document before the posting and perform your change. Unfortunately, there is no single point of entry for a posting of FI document. It could be done via a BAPI or via calling a system transaction.

You can set up a substitution (GBB1) to replace any date entered after 26th of any month will be substituted by 1st date of next month, if the period is closed.

You cannot subsitute posting date.

Exactly. This cannot be controlled by using Substitution Rule. As suggested by Eli, if the documents are getting interfaced from other systems, programatically we can control the posting date as per your requirement.

Hi Sravan,

So as i understand we need to use BAPI to controll the posting dates.

Please explain as on criteria we should develop the program.

Thanks,
