Expiration date of C_TADM55a_75 certification

Hello community!

Recently I have been sadly surprised because I have seen on the website that the certification “C_TADM55a_75 - SAP Certified Technology Associate - System Administration (SAP HANA) with SAP NetWeaver 7.5” expires on December 31, 2021. Besides, I have seen that a new certification “C_TADM_21 SAP Certified Technology Associate - SAP S / 4HANA System Administration” exists which is practically the same as the one mentioned above.

During 2020 and in this year, even after getting the certification, I accessed the certification website C_TADM55a_75 several times and I never saw that validity date. Now overnight I see that the certification which was so hard to achieve has been replaced by one that is almost the same.

I also note that the same certification, but with the database ASE C_TADM54_75 - SAP Certified Technology Associate - System Administration (SAP ASE) with SAP NetWeaver 7.5 has no expiration date.

I would like to know if the end of validity date of the certification C_TADM55a_75 is a mistake due to the similar contents. In case the expiration date of December 31, 2021 was correct, I would like to know how my company might be affected when it comes to managing SAP Netweaver 7.5 systems.

And finally, I would like to know what it means that the certification expires on December 31, 2021.

Could you help me clarify these doubts?.

Good question. As I understand the rules and regulations, your certification is valid until (at least) 2027 but I agree communication on this topic could be better. Let's review.

Please see our list of available and valid certifications. In case of certification exam updates, older certification exams might get retired from that list and replaced with newer versions of the respective exam.

When a certification is on the Soon to Expire Certifications list, the exam page for the certification is also updated, as is the case for C_TADM55a_75, which now includes an Expire Date entry.

As you mention, the newer version of this certification is C_TADM21. There is no expiry date.

Certifications are normally valid for the two most recent solution releases. SAP will notify you about outdated certifications.

Here is my interpretation. Unless you have been notified that your certification is outdated, it is still valid.

According to the product availability matrix, SAP NetWeaver end-of-mainstream-maintenance is 2027. Your certification is valid until then (at least).

There are no plans for a new solution release, i.e. "SAP NetWeaver 7.6" as the product evolved, as it is phrased, to the ABAP Platform, included with SAP S/4HANA and not available as stand-alone product

The C_TADM certification is for SAP S/4HANA system administration, i.e. the ABAP Platform, and as you mention, the training material and exam are quite similar simply because the product (still) is. Which each release, the delta is getting bigger, of course.

As SAP NetWeaver has been retired as brand, so are the NetWeaver-branded certification. Candidates are advised to take the SAP S/4HANA system administration certification, hence the expiration date warning. However, until the end of this year, you can still get certified on SAP NetWeaver, a certification valid for another 6 years.
