Changing UoM Group in Item Master Data

Hi all,

It is possible to change the item master UOM Group? The item only has one Sales Order entry and we have closed it.

But when tried to change the item master UOM Group, it is grey off.

I found SAP note 2042046 - Changing UoM Group in Item Master Data, look like it is standard system behavior.

But I wonder any alternative?

Hi beehoiphoebe.yeo,

As I experienced, you cannot changed the UOM Group once transactions occurred in item master data. You can create a new item and inactive the previous one.

Hi,

Unfortunately, once transaction is posted with the non-manual UoM, it would not be possible to change it.

May be you can check option of creating new item code with correct UoM and inactivating the current one.
