Changing UoM Group in Item Master Data

Hi all,

It is possible to change the item master UOM Group? The item only has one Sales Order entry and we have closed it.

But when tried to change the item master UOM Group, it is grey off.

I found SAP note 2042046 - Changing UoM Group in Item Master Data, look like it is standard system behavior.

But I wonder any alternative?
