in a windows server 2012 R2 server, I installed Bo 4.2 sp7 (tomcat 8.5). we need to update Tomcat. will this impact the proper functioning of Bo or not?
It will depend on how you will do it. If you follow KBA https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/2232191 - then you shouldn't have a problem. Provided that the version you aere planing to upgrade to is supported.
