Please advise how to create a Dependency Matrix of Data Entity vs System . (I've spent around 2hrs ploughing through the "documentation" and given up in despair.)
You are right, by default, PD doesn`t create the Dependency Matrix correctly (at least in my PD 16.7 SP03), there are only rows filled and columns missing. If I create dependency in CDM, there are Entities in rows, but Systems in columns are missing.
Solution (=workaround) is simple. Try to add missing objects through Select Rows/Columns button in Dependency matrix toolbar. Btw. always tell your PD version. It might help significantly to solve your problem.

As an alternative, you could create a computed extended attribute on Entity that uses GTL to extract a list of related systems plus possibly some information about them; alternatively, add the property on the Model, so it extracts that information for all Entities at once.

I struggled on for about another full day, but Powerdesigner fought back tenaciously, so I gave up in despair.
Lesson learned : if you want a Dependency Matrix - use an Excel spreadsheet. . . . .
