SAP Marketing Cloud: Meaning of marketing area for confirmation mails

We are using marketing areas and assign the marketing area to all objects (contacts, interactions, permissions). Marketing areas are activated for campaign execution in our system. However, only one confirmation mail can be activated. In our case I set up the confirmation mail for the global marketing area. Will the confirmation mails still be send out to contacts which are not assigned to the global marketing area but e.g. only to marketing area "Germany"?
