Hello everyone,
I just designed an email template in the lite editor, but I am not able to release the designed content.
There is an error note saying
I cannot find anything on the SAP Help Site. Does anyone know what that means and what I have to change in my template so that I can release it?
Thank you!
Valeska
Hi Valeska,
did you upload the html file or create it from scratch in SAP Marketing Cloud?
I remember having a similar issue in the past (not sure if it was the same) after I uploaded the file. In my case I remember it had something to do with comments in the file.

Hi Tobias,
I created the content from scratch.
I added a link, some pictures, CTA Button and used bold and color text. My plan was to test, if using this template, I can make changes to the font color e.g. and see if those changes are actually displayed correctly in the sent email. We had an issue in the past where the designed layout was different from the layout shown in the preview tab and also different drom the actual sent email.
After removing the link and pictures, I was able to release the template. And based on that released template I was able to make changes to font type and color, save it as new email. The changes were then properly transferred.
Maybe the email lite template should not be so detailed yet containing links and pictures yet, but should only reflect the basic layout and text boxes...
Thanks for your input!
Valeska
Dear Valeska,
You will encounter these type of errors when you have the tags that are not defined in the html5 specification ,please refer to https://developer.mozilla.org/de/docs/Web/HTML/HTML5/HTML5_element_list
Using an undefined tag can lead to unwanted behavior when the html is parsed e. g. refer to https://stackoverflow.com/questions/10830682/is-it-ok-to-use-unknown-html-tags
In regards to security the current settings of the virus scan adapter in SMC don’t accept undefined tags which might result in such issues ,
Please adapt your content accordingly and try again which should work.
Regards,
Saravana.
