Not able to convert from dd.mm.yyyy to dd-mm-yyyy while downloading file as excel.

I am able to download format with *, _, . (star, dot,underscore) but not able to download file with Hyphen (-) format.

did you try ABAP2xlsx ?

We don't know what is your context, so it's impossible to answer.

  • How did you build some excel data (or did you pass not actual Excel data)
  • How did you download the file
  • Did you look at your downloaded data with notepad or notepad++
  • Which version of Excel did you use, what are your Excel settings
  • etc.

In general what comes out in Excel is using the format that Excel "thinks" you are using.

If you want data to appear in a certain format you have to provide that format, so in this case you need to format it using abap as dd-mm-yyyy and then store it in a char10 field rather than a dats one.

The other option is to reformat the column once the data is in Excel.

Internal table data is getting valid format

but when it comes to excel i am getting still the wrong format

i can see the valid data in internal table but not able to get the same when trying to download from sap to excel (using GUI download)
