I asked about this in an earlier thread, but do not think I ever got an answer. When installing with the MSM it complains about this file. I do not use mapping at all and according to Don was it removed for copyright reasons. How do I exclude it from the install? This is the SP31 runtime.
Hi Anders,
Here's what you can do:
MapWinGIS.ocx could not be removed…it’s a necessary component for MapWinGIS which was used in SP30+.
I guessed that customer might face the MapWinGIS.ocx register problem due to lacks of Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable(x86) - 12.0.21005.
If customer did not want to use map feature anymore in runtime, they could just remove the entire CRRuntime_maps_13_0_31.msm while building customized installer.
Thanks again
Don

HI Anders,
You can possibly open it up in ORCA and remove the file.
I'll see if R&D has a work around.
Thanks again
Don

Sorry for the lateness of my reply. I would like it removed as it introduces an unneeded dependency.

OOPs... lol I was thinking about our last chat upgrading to MSI files. You are right, it'll have to be something DEV does to remove the file.
Is there a specific reason why you want it removed? Or just because it's not used anymore.

OK. So Orca can handle MSM-files?
