Unable to register BTP free tier account

Hello experts,

After the announcements in SAP TechEd2021 I was excited to register a Free tier BTP account both for myself as a developer, and another one for my employer company to sample different BTP services in an environment that mimics a productive account.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to do either.

When trying to register our company I received the following message:

Something went wrong
Please check the information you provided and try again. If the problem persists, don’t hesitate to contact us.

And when trying to register my own personal developer account I received this one:

Thank you for your interest. This solution is not currently available for individual purchase in your country/region.

As for the error above, I tried selecting a different region or even changing my account's region from my profile setup but, no matter which region I chose, I kept receiving the same error.

I haven't found any other post showing that someone else has encountered these issues which makes me think the problem might be associated to my account. Is there a workaround for this issue?

Looking forward to reading from you.

Hi Francisco,

I'm sorry you are having issues. We should probably separate these out. Credit card verification in the SAP Store is currently limited to specific countries. If the address associated with your credit card is outside of what supported today, that will lead to the message you cited. I see from your profile that you are based in the USA, so that's a bit puzzling. The US and Canada are both on the list. Perhaps your credit card is "homed" somewhere else?

Regarding the first issue, where in the signup process did that message occur?

Let me know on these and let's see if we can't get you and your organization set up.

Hi riley.rainey

Both myself and my organization are based in South America, so I understand how that can be an issue and I guess I'll have to wait until personal accounts are available in my region.

The error I was getting when trying to register an account for my organization was in the very first step of the registration process and after the input of the company's basic data:

However, after some weeks have passed it seems like the issue in SAP store was fixed and we are now able to go through onto the next steps of the process.
