SAP data analyzer using live query

Hello Folks

Anyone has any idea why the query description is not visible anymore when I look for a query I want to analyze in Data Analyzer or when creating a model in SAC using a live connection to S/4.

As you can see in the 2 images. One shows query tech name only and the other shows techname and description.

It used to show the description but not anymore. Queries are from standard S/4 on-premise (HEC).

My S/4 basis admin says it is not an S/4 issue and it has to do with settings in SAC!!

Please advise.

In general the descriptions are still shown in the selection screen of Data Analyzer, so I see several possibilities:

1. Are you sure the screenshot with the description is indeed from Data Analyzer? It looks a little bit different.

2. Are you sure you select the same system and connection? Maybe the description isn't maintained for your connection.

3. As Xavier already mentioned this could have something to do with language settings. I can see from the screenshot that you have your SAC language set to English, like you also confirmed. But maybe your backend user in the S4 system has a different language defined? The language used to access the backend isn't your SAC profile language, but the language in the backend system. If the query doesn't have a description maintained in that language, then nothing is shown.

Best regards, Christian

the screenshot could be from SAC but I am sure I used to get the description in DA as I was showing some users how to search queries with description. I have tried 3 diff connections to 3 diff systems. I will check with our admin about the backend system language setting after the holidays but I am sure it is set to English as our entire system is in English.

Hi Abdul,

Did you check your language settings in your SAC profile? Maybe a language is selected for which no descriptions are available in your source system.

Cheers,
Xavier
