Hello,

For HANA Cloud, where can we see the list of availability zones in a region.

Hi jason.hinsperger,

the provisioning wizards states:

"Having the instance in the same availability zone with your client can improve performance with faster SQL response time."

But i cannot find any information about the availability zones, in my case eu-central-1a, eu-central-1b, eu-central-1c and therefore I cannot make a decision. Is this documented somewhere?

Kind regards,

Christian.

There is a blog post here from June:

SAP HANA Cloud Data Centers | SAP Blogs

Also, you can find the list of regions in the Discovery Center. If you go to HANA Cloud and click the pricing tab, there is a "Regions" drop down in the top left of the screen that lists all of the available regions.

https://discovery-center.cloud.sap/serviceCatalog/sap-hana-cloud?region=all&tab=service_plan

I can't find a list of availability zones anywhere. I will make a request to get this documented. I think currently the only way to get the list is to go through the provisioning wizard and see what is listed for the regions you are interested in.

Thanks Jason for organizing to get this documented.

Yes, that's right. As of now i am looking through the provisioning wizard and selecting the AZs.

Hello Vasu,

For now, you can deploy only up to one additional replicas for your database instance so that all persistent data is automatically replicated. A synchronous replica is created in the same availability zone as the database instance.

Thanks Jason for your quick reply.

I would like to know more specific to AZ. The discovery center does give me the details about regions, but how do i know if each of these regions has multiple AZs and if yes, how many?

For eg. I want to provision a HANA Cloud DB in US East and want to choose a region which has more AZ.
