SAC data model variable in Advanced formula

Hello experts, I'd like to know if it is possible to use SAC Model Variables in SAC Advanced formulas, especially in the Memberset statement.

my usecase is the following:

- a planning model with import data

- input story at Company level, Company is prompted through the Model Variable

- a data action with an Advanced formula, I'd like that the scoping of the formula is driven from the Model variable value already selected

I wasn't able to find any reference to this.

thanks for your feedback

Hi daniele_cortopassi

Have you tried working with the 'Memberset' statement?

As William pointed out, model variables cannot be used in data actions, story filters nor in import jobs.
Makes me wonder as well why they exist!

Hi daniele_cortopassi,

Model variable will not filter your data in the story and it can't used in data action. Instead of using model variable, I suggest to create either story filter or page filter(input control), data action can take value from story filter or page filter as input parameter.

Best regards, William
