Sync sources duration for a DC is very slow

With regard to sync sources of a DC, when we select all the default components and the existing ones, it take more than 3 minutes to do a single sync source for one development component.

My question is it is really essential to select all of them (apart from the used DCs)when we do sync sources every time. Because, if we donot select all of them and do a sync source, its much faster and easier.

As a practice our development team syncs with 'select all' option , because we have a cluster of development work, where one DC is being accessed by more than one developer.

What is a typical scenario and a good practise to follow on this issue ? Is there a way to reduce the time for the sync sources ?

Hi Satya

You dont need to sync DCs 'delivered-as-archives' everytime because their sources arent available for modification and hence no possibility of them being out of sync unless you update them Eg: updating JEE , JTECHS or BUILDT via JDI in which case they would show up with an yellow exclamation mark within NDS signifying they are out of sync with archive pool in the server.

From a good practice point of view it is better to split your SC into as many DCs possible whick keeps your sync and build time minimal. On how frequent you want to synch these types of DCs depends on how much coupled they are and how frequently they are checked in.
