Hi experts,
why I can not set valid from and valid to date for addresses in change request for a business partner. I will build up a history of addresses. This means I have to set the old address to end date and the new address to valid to til endless.
E.g. for bank accounts it works completly right.
I am looking forward to hearing from you ;-).
Thanks and
Best Regards,
Sven
Hi experts,
good News :-). With the next MDG release it will be possible to add valid from and valid to dates for new or old addresses.
Pls refer to following improvement request.

Hi Sven,
I know it's a bit confusing 🙂
MDG-BP supports neither time dependency for central data and address usages nor time validity for addresses and bank details. Therefore it cannot run on clients using the SAP Business Partner with time dependency and time validity for other purposes.
In S4 one BP can have multiple time-dependent addresses with corresponding address usages.
Best regards
Sam

Dear colleagues,
I have to agree with Sven. It's absolutely not acceptable that time-dependent business partner is in used and in MDG-BP does not support this feature. You can not just tell your customer, "I'm sorry but time-dependent" will not support with MDG-BP. We are talking about over 200,000 business partners for one our customer.
In my opinion a GAP by SAP.

Hi Seven,
Again MDG BP shows those fields but by default does not support this needed behavior as history like MDG-F with the edition concept.
If the address is changed, only the current one will be displayed.

Hi chahoud,
but this make no sense to me. For example the customer will have an FI revision, than it is important to see the history of the default addresses. It is not compliance conform to change the existing one but as I explained above the customer have to set an end date for the old standard address and add the new standard address with a new valid from date. It has to be the same result in the MDG UIBB as in the transaction BP. Do you get me? How did it solve other customers?
Thanks and
Best Regards,
Sven
Hi pavan.bhamidipati & chahoud,
thanks for your answers. But my problem ist that I want to build up a history for used addresses regards to a business partner.
In S4 can set one standard address. If this standard address will be changed to another standard address I must set the old standard address to end date and the newly one to endess date.
The same I will controll in the MDG UI because my customer only works with MDG and not with the transaction BP.
For example:
BP Hans Muster
New Standard address --> Hans-Muster-Strasse 1
3000 Bern
CH
Valid from 29.10.2021 valid to 31.12.9999
Old Standard address --> Max-Müller-Strasse 2
3012 Bern
CH
Valid from 01.01.2021 valid to 28.10.2021
This szenario I showed above I must set in the MDG UI. For the bank accounts I can set it. Do you have an idea for my requirement?
Thanks and
Best Regards,
Sven

Hello ,
The visibility of the fields on the MDG UI can be controlled in multiple possible ways technically. However, One of the ways which I find easy is by setting the properties of fields by configuring Field groupings of Business partner based on Role. In this way you can check if the fields appear based on the address usage type. In SAP S4 it is definitely possible to have multiple addresses.
Thanks
Pavan Bhamidipati
