Hi
I know that I can download a v17 developer version of SQLAnywhere. Unfortunately, my client database is at version 16.
Is anybody knows if I can download v16 of it?
Are you a SAP licensed user of SQL Anywhere? If so, see SAP SQL Anywhere 16 - Download - SQLA Forum for information on how to download. Alternatively, the source of the database file should also have version 16 software (and license) to work with the database -- they would have needed the software to create the database.
I also recommend considering SQL Anywhere 17 given that SQL Anywhere EOLd on Dec 31, 2018. The primary benefit of moving to V17 is access to a number of fixes related to security of the software. That said, you can run a v16 database file on a version 17 server (in fact, you can run any database file v10 and newer) without any upgrade or rebuild of the database. But note that some features are dependent on either upgrading (dbungrad) of the system schema or a rebuilding the database. Additionally, SQL Anywhere permits connections from version 12 and later clients as well as all supported TDS client version, SAP Open Client 15 or later, and jConnect 7 or later.
Please note that the developer edition can only be used for "development" if you opt to go that route. And you need to use caution to ensure that you do not implement for features and capabilities that are not available in older releases (including older releases of 17.0) .

I think the better is to download 17 and then upgrade your 16 db & client to 17.
