Hi Sangamesh,

You can either do what is indicated in option 1 above and unpublish the content or load the content into Producer and use the mass change functionality to remove the Product name or Product Version details from the content that is not to be displayed. After loading the content into Producer:

1. Right click the Group object containing the standard content and select Server Bulk Actions > Start Editing All Objects
2. Select Tools > Web Assistant > Context Maintenance
3. Select Remove Product Versions from the Action list
4. Click OK
5. Synchronise the modified content back to Manager and publish the new version of the content.

Hi Marna,

The Learner View tab is a section of Manager that can be used to distribute information to end users directly out of Manager. This has no impact on whether content is displayed in Web Assistant.

Ultimately, I'm not sure that the Hide button has any impact on Web Assistant, it sounds from your testing that it does not. However, you can control what content is displayed in Web Assistant using 4 attributes displayed on every content object, Language, Context, Product and Product Version. For example, if you remove the value in the Product Version field for a specific content object and republish that object, it will no longer appear in Web Assistant. If you look at the best answer response you can see some steps to remove the Version number from multiple objects Simultaneously, or you can do it manually, one object at a time. Be sure to publish the content again after you remove the Version numbers.

Hi Sangamesh,

OK understand, you want to hide the content, not the Group objects. There are several ways you can do this:

1. If the standard content is not being used at all, perhaps you can unpublish all the standard content. Click on the Custom Content folder in Manager and click the down arrow beside More... in the top right corner and select Unpublish all Objects

2. If the standard content is being used for other purposes, perhaps you can put your custom content in a WA on it's own and then set the learningAppWorkspace parameter to the ID of the new Workarea. Don't forget to publish the Resources, content and content templates in the new WA, if you decide to do this

3. Remove one of the 3 attributes used to allow content to appear in the Learning Center from each object not to appear. You can Product name or Product Version attributes or change the Language attribute and then republish the content. This is probably a long task so options 1 or 2 are better if possible.

hello Shane,

I believe I'm in a similar situation as the one described by Sangamesh, but to be sure, here is the scenario:

SEN Cloud 2111 with target application S/4HANA 2020 on Prem, with Extended Scenario.

We would like to prevent following objects from being displayed in Web Assistant, in Learning section, coming from Extended Workarea (= standard content):

- a bookpage ("Working with the Launchpad")

- a tutorial ("Managing Spaces and Pages")

Both objects belong to Group "Working with the Launchpad (S4G02e)".

I refer to SAP Enable Now Manager Cloud - Manual (version 2105), under 4.2.4.1 Tab Overview, where it reads:

"Hide = Hides the object in the Learner view, regardless of its published status. Hidden objects are displayed greyed out within the workarea tree."

No matter where in the Group hierarchy I've flagged the "hide" checkbox and regardless the published status, all objects were still displayed in the carousel.

I was able to recreate a book page and have it displayed. This custom bookpage should include an updated table of contents for the 3 remaining tutorials (all but "Managing Spaces and Pages").

The point is that "hide" does not seem to work in any way.

The only way I was able to hide my objects was by changing (=removing) their Web Assistant context attributes, as you suggested in one of your answers.

Is there really no other way? And why is "hide" not working with me?

Thanks for your help,

Marna

Hi Sangamesh,

For content to appear in the Learning Center, specific rules must be in place:

1. The content must be in the correct Workarea, in Manager; the Workarea being used by the Learning Center
2. The content must be published
3. The content must have the correct Language value, the correct Context value, the correct Product name value and the correct Product Version value

In the case of Group objects, it is not currently possible - in the current release - to maintain a Product name and Product Version value against a Group object so Group objects will not be displayed in Web Assistant. Can you please send a screenshot of what is being displayed that you don't want displayed in the Learning Center so I can provide more information about how to stop it appearing.
