Skip Batch Quality Inspection for a batch already inspected

Dear Expert,

We need to configure our S/4HANA Cloud system to manage the procurement quality inspection in the following way:

  1. Creation of Purchase Order with a material managed by batch
  2. Creation of partial Goods Receipt against the purchase order
  3. Inspection Results recording on the partial Goods Receipt
  4. Take Usage Decision (Accepted or Rejected) on the partial quality inspection
  5. Skip steps 3 and 4 during the goods receipt for the remaining batch quantity considering that the same batch was already inspected

Hello techedge.techedge.

How are you? For this case, I suggest you that, for the Quality View for the Purchased Material, for Inspection Type 01, you define the Control Lot Creation as "For each material, batch and storage location".

Doing this, for the next goods receipt for the same material, batch and storage location, the quantity of the Inspection Lot will be increased, but considering the previous result of the Inspection Lot, the Quantity will enter automatically in Unrestricted or Blocked, depending of your Inspection Lot Result.

Hi Juliano,

Thank you for reply.

We have another question. We tested the case of Rejection as result of the first goods receipt. However, when performing the second goods receipt the stock is not posted in blocked stock (as the result registered for the first GR) but again in Quality Inspection status. How can we manage this case in order to copy the result of the first inspection (post into blocked stock)?

Thank you,

BR

Hello techedge.techedge.

According to the Help of the field "Control of Inspection Lot Creation (Lot Summary)", you have this:

For inspection lots for goods movements

Defines that under certain conditions as a result of goods movements an existing inspection lot is enhanced, and that no new inspection lot is created.

In this lot summary, the stock from the inspection lot is increased by the stock quantities from the following goods movements. The lot summary does not take place when the inspection lot stock created with the first goods receipt is already completely credited when further partial deliveries are received.

If a usage decision has already been made for the existing inspection lot, the inspection lot summary is dependent on the latter's valuation.

  • For the valuation "Acceptance", further partial deliveries are posted to the available stock without creating a new inspection lot.
  • For the valuation "Rejection", new inspection lots are created with the following partial deliveries.

In your case, for "Rejection", a new Inspection Lot was created. In case of "Acceptance", the further partial goods receipts were posted direct in Available Stock. My statement that the Stock of the Second Goods Receipt was sent direct to Blocked Stock was wrong.

So, considering the "Help Portion" above, SAP S/4HANA Cloud is working correct regarding the Stock Placement after the First Goods Receipt, whatever if the inspection Lot Usage Decision of the First Goods Receipt was "Acceptance" or "Rejection".

mateus.blume, do you have any additional comment?

Regards.

Hello TechEdge

Have you considered using Dynamic Modification of the Inspection Scope as mentioned in the online documentation
