Hello Experts,

Need your help in Deleting DAP ( data archival process ) from the target BW system ?. this target system is a system copy of the source BW system where we don't want to continue with SAP IQ NLS and want to remove all DAP / NLS references from the required ADSOs, while doing this we're facing the below error, do you know what could be the issue & how to fix it ?

Hello himanshuvelo

please keep in mind, that every SAP BW Systems need a 1:1 relation to an IQ Database or dummy to ensure that transports of DAP are working correctly

for additional error messages see also the Blog - demystifying NLS/ILM error messages …

Hello Roland,

Many thanks for sharing the detailed insights. That is really informative.

Please note, as part of the workaround what we performed - fix would remain within that particular BW system only. We accept that it consumes manual & repetitive effort to resolve the issue as we do not have any other resolution - hence we followed the above approach.

Hope it clears the picture - thank you once again Roland : )

Best Regards,

Himanshu

Hello himanshuvelo

Did you had a look to the Document - SAP First Guidance – SAP NLS Solution with SAP IQ 16.x

there should also be mentioned how to reset the NLS process

Dear Roland,

Yes, it is indeed a great document, but I could not find the fix there.

Since even trying many resolution options, we couldn't get the actual fix, we are going ahead with the following workaround for go-live.

-Right-click to ADSO, select the 'Delete' option from 'Data Archiving Process' - it will ask to remove the dependency (if you have) - click OK and then give transport no. to capture change. Since it is a one-time activity for production, and to capture the same change in TR there, the Customer & BASIS team agreed to open the client for some time in the Pre-cutover window. It solves our purpose to delete all the NLS requests from those ADSOs.

Thank you for your kind help.

Regards,

Himanshu

Hi Kumar.

It's hard to tell something without detail error message.
If possible, could you delete a 'InfoCube' of the NLS under InfoProvider to see if all DAPs are removed ?
When you still encounter issues, please open a SAP Case to get SAP support.

Best regards.
YJ, Kim.

Hi Youn-Jae,

Could you please guide me further? We have DAP linked to ADSO, not InfoCube. if I try try to delete DAP, it will throw the same error as shown in the first screenshot.

Himanshu
