Determination of communication partner ID failed

Hi,

I'm trying to enable the messaging between S4 On Premise and Event Mesh... But during the channel registration (/IWXBE/CONFIG) I keep receiving this error message: Determination of communication partner ID failed

There is no info in Error Log or in SLG1 as suggested by pop-up Activation result:

I have of course create the Event Mesh default plan, create a service key and use this key to create the channel. I have created RFC Destinations as described in dokumentation and maintain the proxy settings as well...

I could not find any error record in Error log or SLG1, just this one message: Determination of communication partner ID failed

Hi Tobias,

first of all thanks for feedback... I follow your recommendation (the only one difference between what I did so far is that I let system to create the RFC destination as well), but I still get the same feedback:

Determination of communication partner ID failed

Connection check says as before: Connection test for channel is successful

Any other idea?

Hi milan_konecny_afo,

I can see from your screenshot that you have a button "via Service Key". If you use this button to create a new channel it will also take care of creating a proper RFC destination. My assumption is that something with your destination is wrong.

Can you try to create the channel again and let the system take care of RFC creation? You still might need to adopt the proxy settings afterwards if this is required by your setup. The steps are described here: Configure SAP Enterprise Messaging for SAP S/4HANA On-Premise 2020 via Service Key
