Hi all,
I was wondering, if there is a way in SAP Analytics Cloud to have variable texts inside charts, similar it's possible in BEx Queries. (We have aquired data in SAC right now.)
Example: I have a chart which I would open with Variable Selection like
When I'm running the dashboard for Q3, I would not only dynamically pull the relevant data, but also have the legend and description automatically displaying Q3 without manual maintenance of the chart.
How can this be done?
Thanks in advance.
Dear Vijayeta,
yes, you are right.
More particular: My issue is with restricted and calculated measures in a chart, where I need to put in a description/title, but if for example the period is part of the restriction and gets dynamically updated by eg an input controll, the title of the restricted measure can‘t have a dynamic text variable.
Or is there also a way?
Thanks, Annike

Hello alemmle,
I think this is default behavior already. Say you have a page filter on Posting period. and you chart contains Revenue by period. legend will auto update based on your period selection. In case of vertical bar chart X axis legend will update based on your selection.
Not sure if I am missing anything here.
Thanks,
Vijayeta

Thanks for the info, Jay.
I am aware of the „dynamic text“ concept, but that only works for the title of the chart, not the data elements itself, e.g. the description below a bar (in a barchart).
Or would that also be possible?

Hi there,
You do have the concept of 'dynamic text' which could meet this use case. And you could tie this to what user selection the user makes via Input Controls/Story Filters/Page Filters for any dimension (in this example Date-related).
