Reporting on S/4Hana: Design Studio or Webdynpro?

I would like to understand why in the attached documentation from SAP Note 2956071 - Customer guide: S/4HANA Margin Analysis reporting, SAP insists on recommending the use of Webdynpro reporting tool instead of Design Studio apps.

When we check the catalogs for those Fiori apps, all webdynpro Targets for Webdynpro apps appear as "obsolete".

I would appreciate any comments.
