Workday integration with SAC

Hi Team,

I am planning to implement the Headcount and Payroll planning in SAC for which the source of data is Workday for Headcount and then the calculations are made in SAC for Payroll Planning. I need to know if there is standard connections available from Workday to SAC and then from SAC to Workday.

Appreciate the response.

Thanks and Regards,

Vijay

Hello vlm,

Unfortunately there are not out of the box option available at this moment. Although you can take advantage of existing options -

  1. I have seen Workday running on MySQL DB mostly, if that is the case you can connect SAC to back end MySQL DB directly for data import. Once connected MySQL table will be visible from SAC for import data. There is once time setup that would be required -
Import Data Connection to an SQL Database
Other relational DB's are supported for import connection in SAC. Please check the link above.
  2. I found the best option in our scenario is file server based setup. Here Workday can export data to a file server and then SAC can pickup those field from file server. You can schedule import job in SAC as well. File server setup required some work from Workday as well as one time setup from SAC side as well -

Hi Vijeta,

Thanks for the response.

So there are 2 options:

1.Import data connection to SQL data base

2. Import from File server.

Is it not possible to have the Workday>S/4 HANA>SAC integration or

Workday>BW/4 HANA>SAC integration.

Thanks and Regards,

Vijay

vlm you didn't mentioned BW or S4 in your question. If you add new middle layer there there will be multitude of options.
But again if you starting thinking about connecting workday to middle another layer of application you are adding more overhead and data replication.

Hope this answers your question.

Thanks,

Vijayeta

Thanks Vijayeta for the response.

We will keep these options suggested by you and limitations in mind (for S/4 and BW) when we would be solutioning our design.

Thanks and Regards,
