Hi,
in our SAP Hana 1.0 SP12, I see for a long time that CPU consumption never exceeds 50% (see prtsc bellow), even when Hana is overloaded. I am thinking about it, whether we do have wrong configuration (something about max cpu number limit?). Can anyone please advise me what it could be?
Thank you!
Dear Jozef,
As far as I can think, there are some possible reason for your system hungging up.
If you can't find out the cause of the hungging up or can't do trouble shootings any more, I recommend to ask SAP support. I hope my post would help you.

Dear Jozef,
Why don't you analyze the bottleneck when overload situation following by SAP HANA Troubleshooting and Performance Analysis Guide?
It might exist another bottleneck in HANA beside from cpu. Or it could exist out of HANA, I mean application which uses HANA.

Hi,
we analyzed according to this guide, but we do not find the answer for this specific case. In the picture below is the status of used memory and CPU when Hana was overloaded and do not respond to some new requests. It is weird for me that memory is not even used half and CPU does not exceed 50% although is very busy.
Hello,
there are many parameters that could influence CPU consumption. You can get detailed information on the subject in the following notes:
- 2222250 - FAQ: SAP HANA Workload Management
- 2100040 - FAQ: SAP HANA CPU
Note that Hana 1.0 SP12 is out of maintenance since June (see 2021789 - SAP HANA 1.0 Revision and Maintenance Strategy )
regards,
Michael
