Hi Geeks
Can anybody explain me difference between cube reinitialization & reconstruction?
Monica
Thanx once again Bhanu,
Bhanu how to make sure that we have all the data required for reconstruction of cube available in PSA?
As per my knowledge we do not store data in PSA for a long time (sorry I am a beginner in BW so my lack of knowledge is evident)
So say we have data till last month in PSA, so we can only reconstruct cube for data till last month, is it right?
How can I get remaining data to load into cube? (which is currently not in PSA)

You can check for what data requests are available in the PSa in RSA1 > Modeling > PSA. Here search for your InfoSource and under that you can see the different requests available for reconstruction.
If all the data is not in the PSA, then I would extract from the source system.
Hope this helps...

These two are different reinitialization means bringing data completly from Source System and reconstructing is done with in BW from PSA this we could do it in Data Target Manage tab
Hope this helps

Hi Monica,
Using Reconstruction you rebuild the cube data from the data that is stored in the PSA (which is in the BW system). Reinitialisation means that you are re-extracting the data from the source. This extraction (Init) sets the delta mechanism fo duture delta loads.
Hope this helps...
