Access Request approver "an exceptional error occurred" issue

Hi All,

I have hit upon an error in Access Request user creation in a 3 stage level (Role-owner, Manager & Security) approval process. When the request had been approved at role-owner stage and it moved for approval at Manager level there is an error message popping up immediately manager level user opens the request number from the work inbox which reads "An exceptional error occurred"

Only the CLOSE tab is shown without the other SUBMIT, REJECT, OTHER ACTION and Approve tabs.

How can this error be fixed? Any of you guys have come across it?

Thanks and noted on your advice concerning keeping off URL's; it was a risky oversight on my part.

The QA screen I have shared is to show the exact system message I was getting in PRD before the dump issue also arose. The same way it appears on that QA screen shot is how it was in PRD now due to the dump error I am unable to take a screen shot from the PRD system as I cant open the links under work set Access Request Creation.

The MSMP configuration does not have any URL; each stage of it has agents, ranging from three at role-owner stage, three at manager stage and 4 security/approver stage. And actually the uncaught exception error began when trying to test new security approvers I configured in place of the one user who has left. Tried to reconfigure the 3rd stage or two days with no success until this issue arose.

I have raised the issue with Basis; they have requested that maybe if look at screen shot of syntax attached you may have an idea of the cause and suggest how to resolve it.

I noticed in 1 screen shot that you have a production URL whilst in another you have a QA URL. As a side note, generally try to avoid putting URLs in screen shots - although this time it might have helped.

The short dump for CX_FQDN implies fully qualified domain name. I think Basis need to check your system setup. If you google CX_FQDN SAP short dump then you will find

Does your MSMP contain configuration or notification that is using a URL or performing manager lookup for agent. That might explain why you are seeing it in Manager Stage and not Role Owner. I suspect it's the request submission event that is causing the issue whilst you are seeing the error when opening the request in the approval screen.

The syntax error is the new error which has come in after. The top four links on work set Access Request Creation are now not opening and throwing up this message
