Alternative Modes using Work Center (not work)

Hi,

I am trying to create alternative modes in PPDS.

1.create characteristics (value mixing,tank,turning)

2.create class 019 and assign characteristic (valid from 2021/01/01)

3.create work center A,B,C and assign each with above characteristic value

4.Create a routing with work center A and assign characteristic value Mixing in the operation .(valid from 2021/07/21)

5.Create BOM/production version

6.sent it to PPDS and generate PDS

but the alternative mode is not generated, as u could see below. Any tips on it ? Do i need to create 3 routings? thanks.

Hi Zev,

Can you please check if the validity date (valid from ) of the production version, routing and the characteristics and classes. I see here that you have the validity date in the PDS as 27/07/2021 but your characteristics has the validity start date as 30/07/2021 and in one place i see the class start date as 01/01/2021. This doesn't help. All three needs to be aligned. Please refer to the blog https://blogs.sap.com/2016/09/22/alternative-modes-with-work-center-classification-and-validity-date...

kindly go through the above and the oss notes mentioned in blog. This should help get the alternate modes in your PDS.

Hello,

Please check your characteristic has assigned the "All" allowed values.

Please make sure Advanced Planning flag for all your workcenter

And workcenter are available in /SAPAPO/RES01

Also note Routing has alternative sequences - It's straight forward to use the BAdI solution from Note 507025. Work center classification is not necessary here.

• Also note Routing has alternative sequences---not quite understand it. but i just tried to create an alternative sequence,and resend the PDS to PPDS. the alternative mode still not display.

Hello,

If you are using classification of resource then do not use the alternative sequences.

Also note alternative sequences need BAdI CUSLNTRTO_ADDIN for alternative mode in PDS.

Please create a another fresh routing and production version the try CURTOADV_CREATE and then check your PDS.

Hi,Brahmankar:

As you could see in my routing screen in the step4, i created a routing with one of the work center , and generated the PDS to PPDS.

but the alternative mode not display. it only display one mode (refer to the PDS screen in PPDS above)

any other suggestions?thanks.
