The business partner field is blank in the display mode in Plan customer /internal project because the user is not assigned to the business catalog Master Data - Business Partner Display 'SAP_CMD_BC_BP_DISP_PC' or if the restriction are maintained for the role assigned to the user and field BP role is restricted, then make sure the value '000000' is included in the field 'BP role' under "Read, Value Help" in maintain business role app.
