How to fix columns in crosstab irrespective of data

I have a cross table as attached in a webi report.

Here Employee object is taken in row and Month object in column. PM(Previous Month) and MTD(Current Month) are displayed over Month name using conditional formatting. If data is not there for current Month, then only PM column will be displayed.I got a requirement to fix the number of columns to 2 even if data is there for one month. If I did any modifications on column to display PM/MTD, then data is not coming correctly for each employee. Please help me in this.

What do you mean data is not populated correctly when you apply any changes to the column?.

Can you post a scenario please?.
