How to open external URL from C4C?

In the UI Designer in Cloud Application Studio I can define a field as a link and bind a URL to it.

However, when the user opens the link the C4C system appends the tenant's uri the the URL so we get a 404 error as the url doesn't exist.

How can I allow the user to click on a link which will lead to a location outside C4C?

I think my issue (and I should really re-ask my question with this detail) is that the link is not 'http://www.' it is a folder location that I want to open.

For example, the url I want to open could be

C:\Users\Katie\Documents\FeasibilityStudies\Trash\Trash.doc

Hi Katie,

You could create an Event Handler with the operation OpenLink, bind the URI field/element. Then in the link field just set the OnClick event to trigger that Event Handler.

Thanks,

Will

This doesn't work, it prepends the tenant url to the bound url!

Ensure the URL has http://www in it and it should work!

Hi Katie,

This can be achieved by creating URL Mashup.
